AbstractA phase pure series of LnCl[WO4] (Ln: Gd—Lu) is prepared by solid state reaction of Ln2O3, LnCl3, and WO3 in the molar ratio 1:5:3 (evacuated silica tubes, 950 °C, 7 d) with LnCl3 acting as reactive flux.
