AbstractThe Paal‐Knorr condensation of the chiral lactone (I) of L‐homoserine leads to the (R)‐(+)‐(III) which inhibits the trigonelline‐induced G2 cellular arrest as does the endogenous factor isolated from the roots of 10‐day old seedlings of Pisum sativum.
