Abstract

AbstractSingle crystals of Ba2Mo15Se19, which is the first condensed‐cluster compound containing a divalent cation, are prepared by heating of cold‐pressed pellets of BaSe, MoSe2, and Mo in sealed Mo crucibles at 1973 K (1 h) and cooling at 100 K/h. The compound crystallizes in the trigonal space group R3c with Z=2 and is isostructural to In2Mo15Se19 containing In(I) cations.
