Abstract

Abstract Several sodium salts of anionic bcron heterocycles of the general formula Na+[(OH)2B(RCONO)]− have been synthesized by the reaction of boric acid with benzohydroxamic acid or derivatives thereof, RCONHOH (R = C6H5,2-NO2C6H4, 4-NO2C6H4, 4-OCH3C6H4, 2-ClC6H4, 4-ClC6H4). The salts have been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, lH NMR and UV spectra, conductance measurements and molecular weight determinations. They are strong electrolytes in aqueous solutions.
