AbstractThe reaction of ferrocenylalkenes e.g. (I) with chloromethyl alkyl ethers catalyzed by Lewis acids such as TiCl2(OiPr)2 gives 3‐alkoxy‐1‐ferrocenyl carbocations which can be trapped by nucleophiles e.g. N3‐ (III) or NHMe2 to yield 1,3‐disubstituted ferrocenylalkane derivatives of the type (IV).
