Abstract2‐Hydroxyethyltriphenylphosphonium chloride (I) is dehydrated and then treated with the alcohols (III) to form the alkyl(aryl)oxyethylphosphonium salts (IV) which undergo Wittig olefination with the (het)aryl aldehydes (V), yielding the allylic ethers (VI).
