Abstract
Abstract Selenium showed excellent catalytic activity for carbonothiolation of alcohols with carbon monoxide and sulfur under mild conditions. S-Alkyl carbonothioates were synthesized in good yields from various alcohols, carbon monoxide, elemental sulfur, and alkyl halides in the presence of selenium-catalyst.
