Abstract

AbstractTwo distinct reaction rates are observed for the formation of (PMo12O40)3‐ (I) depending on the formation procedure: mixing an acidic molybdate solution with an acidic phosphate solution exhibits a very slow reaction rate (formation of (I) is completed after ∼ 10 min), whereas acidification of the mixed molybdate‐phosphate solution rapidly produces 80% of (I) (30 s).
