AbstractThe aza‐Brook‐rearrangement of 2‐(trimethylsilyl)aryltriflates 3‐substituted with a secondary benzylic amino group to benzyne intermediates and subsequent inter‐ or intramolecular trapping of the latter with 1,3‐dienes such as furan and pyrrole derivatives as well as alkyl azides or 1,3‐dipoles such as nitrones is elaborated.
