Abstract
Perylenetetracarboxylic diimide derivative-containing monomeric and polymeric red fluorophores were prepared for the chemiluminescence. The UV–VIS spectrophotometric, photoluminescent and chemiluminescent characteristics were investigated. Sodium salicylate-catalyzed reaction of them with bis(2-carbopentyloxy-3,5,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate with hydrogen peroxide provided a strong chemiluminescent red light emission at around 625nm; these were similar to the photoluminescent spectra. The chemiluminescent intensity was decayed exponentially, but the glow of chemiluminescence maintained more than 18h and was visible with naked eye.
