Abstract
Zusammenfassung The phenyl- and phenylalkyl-arsines As(C 6 H 5 ) 3 , CH 3 As(C 6 H 5 ) 2 , C 2 H 5 As-(C 6 H 5 ) 2 , CH 2 [As(C 6 H 5 ) 2 ] 2 and CH 3 C[CH 2 As(C 6 H 5 ) 2 ] 3 react with HBr in nonaqueous solvents by selective cleavage of the arsenic—phenyl bonds yielding AsBr 3 ,CH 3 AsBr 2 ,CH 2 (AsBr 2 ) 2 and CH 3 C(CH 2 AsBr 2 ) 3 . The electron impact mass spectra of these compounds show clear fragmentation patterns resulting mainly from the formation of fragments with As—As bonds or As 3 clusters. The infrared and Raman spectra of all the alkylbromoarsines can be assigned completely in the range of 4000–30 cm -1 .
