Abstract
Water oxidation is one of the vital parts of the natural and artificial photosynthesis. Moreover it plays an important role to convert solar energy to fuel. But the oxidation of water is a complicated task and required efficient catalysts to perform it artificially. In this review, a brief overview of homogeneous, ruthenium based molecular catalysts for the water oxidation reaction has been documented. This report will help to design and develop robust and efficient water oxidation catalysts artificially.
