Abstract
Innovation is the primary driving force of development. Carrying forward the spirit of science, the Department of Chemical Sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) launched a series of measures to stimulate management innovation and push science funds reform for chemical sciences in China, which has opened a new chapter of its work during the 13th Five-Year Plan. This article overviews the progress in working style, academic ethics, discipline layout and fund allocation of Department of Chemical Sciences, NSFC and propose future working plans.
