Abstract

AbstractGas‐phase ionization of ethylene with positive ions generated from molecular I2 leads to the formation of the iodiranium ion, m/z 155. No fragmentation or crossover is seen from a mixture of C2H4 and C2D4, although a net isotope effect (I155/I159 = 1.41 ± 0.02) is observed.
