Abstract

A range of fungicides was assessed on late-sown green peas in south-east Queensland and north-west Tasmania for the control of powdery mildew caused by Oldium sp. Triadimefon (Bayleton 125 EC) at 500 mL/ha applied at early flowering gave excellent control under high disease pressure in both States, In Tasmania, single sprays with tebuconazole, propiconazole or fenpropimorph also reduced leaf and pod infections significantly with corresponding increases in yield. Wettable sulphur was effective in both States. It has a significant chemical cost advantage over systemic fungicides and is acceptable to biodynamic/organic growers.
