Abstract

Talaromyces minioluteus W19 was isolated from a deep-sea sediment sample of the western Pacific Ocean. A systematic investigation of its chemical constituents led to the isolation of nine compounds, including one new macrolactin (1), three citrinin (2−4), one sesquiterpene ester (5), one steroid (6), two fatty acid analogues (7 and 8), and one glyceride (9). Compounds 2, 4, and 6−9 were isolated from the genus Talaromyces for the first time. Fusarimone A (3) could be ideal chemotaxonomic marker for T. minioluteus. Drimane sesquiterpenoid-amino acid hybrid is potent chemotaxonomic marker for the genus Talaromyces.
