Abstract

Grapefruit oil concentrates were prepared by vacuum distillation and analyzed by GC/MS. Twenty-five compounds were identified of which limonene (64–85%) was the major constituent. The influence of the concentration process on oxygenated compounds was also evaluated. Cold-pressed oil concentrated two-fold, five-fold and ten-fold produced two-, four- and five-fold concentration increases in oxygenated compounds, respectively.
