Abstract
AbstractThe quantum theoretical treatment of chemical bond formation and partial charge transfer in condensed systems is extended recently to charge injection processes in electronic nonequilibrium. An exposition of the theoretical fundamentals is given, which apply particularly to electrochemical and photoelectrochemical processes on semiconductors. Related problems in semiconductor electronics are likewise included in the discussion.
