Abstract

The electronic properties of semiconducting (S) and metallic (M) single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) films were modified either by chemical or electrochemical doping, while changes in their electronic structure were monitored in-situ by optical absorption spectroscopy. In both experiments the intensity of absorption features at 0.68, 1.2 and 1.8 eV were dramatically affected, demonstrating the possibility of tuning the Fermi level to specific bands in S- or M-SWCNTs.
