Abstract
Studies are undertaken on the chemistry of commercial polymers of high molecular weight and synthesizing of new chelating polymers from these as base polymers for selective flocculation of lead minerals. Xanthate polyacrylamide and 8-hydroxyqunoline polyacrylamide were prepared in the laboratory. These polymers were employed as tailor made flocculants in the selective flocculation of lead minerals from the gangue1.
