Abstract
Charomyces amphimelas is described as the type species of a new anamorph genus of Hyphomycetes. The species produces verticillate conidiogenous hyphae that become chains of cylindrical brown ameroconidia with black polar bands. Conidium ontogeny is apparently thallic–arthric, and conidia secede rhexolytically.
