Abstract
The charge and discharge rates of lead-acid batteries are limited primarily by the mobility of current carrying ions in the electrolyte. An increase in ion mobility by forced circulation of the electrolyte is shown to improve the efficiency of the charging process and the effect of electrode spacing on charging rate is discussed.
