Abstract

Abstract The charge-transfer transition between ion radical molecules is known to take place in solid ion radical salts. The present paper describes some spectroscopic features of the charge-transfer absorptions observed in complex anion radical salts of (Cs+)2(TCNQ)3\ewdot\ewdot and (Morpholinium+)2(TCNQ)3\ewdot\ewdot. A one-dimensional Hubbard model consisting of equivalent sites with less than half-occupied orbitals was applied to those systems in order to explain the transition energy and the line shape of the charge-transfer absorptions.
