Abstract

We successfully assembled individual carbon nanotube (CNT) on the electrode as well as quantum dots (QDs) on the CNT by using dielectrophoretic force twice. For chemical bonding between CNT and QD, pyridine molecules are used. Charges generated from photo excitation of QD transported to the CNT, and then we measured the current change. It was observed that CNT played role of excellent conduit for charge transfer. When we used several sizes of QDs, absorption bandwidth of the optical device was determined by the emission wavelength of QD.
