Abstract
Clear complementarity: Surface chemistry induced morphology transformation in layered titanate nanostructures can be used to control their photoelectronic properties. Na2Ti3O7 nanowires can be transformed reversibly into nanotubes with acid/base treatment (see picture); the nanowires exhibit photoluminescence, which is suppressed in the nanotubes, while the charge separation is stronger in the nanotubes.
