Abstract
Iron(IV)-based Ruddlesden-Popper-type oxides Sr3Fe2−x Co x O7−y (0≤x≤1) have been synthesized and studied by various techniques. It is shown that iron-57 Mossbauer spectroscopy is a powerful tool for elucidating the intimate correlations between chemical composition, electron-transport properties, electronic state, magnetism, and the large magneto-resistance effects in this system.
