Abstract
We investigated the spin fluctuations in Pr 1− x Ca x MnO 3, which forms charge ordering followed by antiferromagnetism. In the paramagnetic phase, the intense ferromagnetic quasielastic scattering dominates the inelastic response. This scattering originates from a spin diffusion process with a small diffusion constant, indicating the slow electronic hopping process mediated by the double-exchange mechanism. The ferromagnetic spin fluctuations were suppressed first at the charge-ordering transition and then at the antiferromagnetic transition.
