Abstract

The momentum dependence of the cross section for the reaction ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}+p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{K}}^{0}+n$ has been determined. The data are analyzed in terms of an effective-range approximation to the ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{-}p$ phase shifts. A comparison is made to other studies of low-energy ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{-}p$ interactions, and the data are used to infer the existence of a $\overline{K}N$ $S$-wave bound state.
