Abstract
The theoretical method is suggested for analysis of inelastic processes during the penetration of fast ions in solids. With the help of this method, we obtained charge exchange, ionization, and excitation cross sections, equilibrium and nonequilibrium charge distributions, and inelastic energy losses over wide ion energy range. The calculations, performed for nitrogen ions in celluloid, were compared with experimental data and the results of other authors.
