Abstract

The charge density differences between208Pb and206Pb as well as between206Pb and205Tl have been calculated within the generalized theory of finite Fermi systems. Here one describes206Pb and205Tl as correlated two-neutron hole states and two-neutron hole one-proton hole states in208Pb, respectively. We discuss the spectroscopic strength of the 3s-hole and argue that the remaining difference between the theoretical and experimental charge distributions may be connected with the range of validity of Landau's quasi particle concept.
