Abstract
The formation of a weak superlattice in transmission electron diffraction patterns of the hexagonal layered superconductor 2HNbSe 2 below 35 K is reported. Based on the temperature dependence of the superlattice reflexion intensity down to 17 K and by comparison with related layer materials, an interpretation of these effects in terms of a charge density wave coupled to a periodic lattice distortion is proposed.
