Abstract

The charge-density-wave (CDW) state at the quantum limit is investigated at absolute zero within the framework of the Hartree-Fock approximation. As a function of the fractional occupation of the lowest Landau level, we found that the CDW state always has a relatively large gap at the Fermi energy and that the state is essentially similar to the classical Wigner lattice even at high density region where the Landau level is half-filled.
