Abstract
The dynamics of laser-induced excess charge carriers is investigated in MoSe 2 and MoS 2 powders by contactless time-resolved photoconductivity measurements. Remarkably long lifetimes of excess charge carriers are found. It is shown that platinization of the MoSe 2 and halogen treatment of the MoS 2 powder dramatically shorten the lifetimes of excess charge carriers. The experimental results are discussed with respect to photocatalysis.
