Abstract

The study aims to determine the best formulation of bath salt enriched with lemongrass essential oil as fragrant agent each treatment by looking at the water content, pH, dissolving time, foaming, and organoleptic tests. The ingredients for bath salts were Epsom or magnesium sulphate, sodium carbonate, SLES, citric acid, cornflour, olive oil, essential oil, and alcohol. Differences in treatment on the concentration of Epsom and sodium bicarbonate. The results showed that the difference in Epsom concentration (50%,60%,40%) and sodium bicarbonate concentration (5%,10%,15%) was significantly different to water content and pH value. The average pH was 3-4. Bath salts also have easily soluble properties in water and do not have too much foam or foam. The level of preference of bath salts, panellists prefer a soft texture, fragrant flavor, and white colour.
