Abstract

Although airway inflammatory diseases can be caused/worsened by repetitive bioaerosol exposures, a one-time high exposure can have long-lasting consequences. Endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide/LPS), high in agriculture and occupational dusts, is an important inflammatory agent. Previously, LPS was found to recruit long-lived lung monocyte-macrophage subpopulations at 48-hours post-inhalant exposure. This study seeks to define their cellular phenotype/function and lung transcriptomics.
