Abstract

With rates of survival for early-stage cancer diagnoses increase, a growing number of cancer survivors are living with chronic illnesses, such as diabetes mellitus (diabetes). This is particularly true among older adult cancer survivors, who are more likely to have at least one chronic illness. In 2015, an estimated 12.2 million U.S. adults aged 65 years or older had diabetes (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2017).
