Abstract

In recent years, different authors have shown interest to study Kerridge inaccuracy measure for truncated distributions. In the present communication, we provide characterizations of quite a few continuous and discrete distributions based on past inaccuracy measure. We introduce the concept of interval inaccuracy measure for two-sided truncated random variables. This measure may help the information theorists and reliability analysts to study the various characteristics of a system/component when it fails between two time points. Various aspects of interval inaccuracy measure have been discussed and some characterization results have been provided.
