Abstract

This paper constitutes the second and final part of a work aimed at characterizing TiN coatings obtained by different physical vapor deposition techniques, namely, ion plating, sputtering, and electron beam, utilized as continuous processes. The results of characterization indicated that the properties of the coatings are affected by the deposition techniques. Significant differences were observed in texture, morphology, chemical composition, adhesion, and other features of the coatings obtained by electron beam technology compared to those obtained by sputtering and ion plating.
