Abstract

This paper contains the results and analysis of an extensive on-body radio channel propagation measurement program at Telecommunications Research Labs which is part of a larger ultra low-power Wireless Body Area Network design project. A measurement platform is presented which can capture broadband (400 MHz) channel impulse responses at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz at SNRs of 50 dB or more. Analysis of path loss, coherence bandwidth and RMS delay spread are provided for LOS, NLOS and cross-polarized conditions.
