Abstract

The existence of the localized surface plasmon polariton (LSPP) mode in T-shaped Ag/SiO2/Ag array was demonstrated. The angular-independent, highly-localized, low sideband resonant mode was observed at 0.35eV in agreement with the prediction from the rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA). The mode was characterized by measuring the absorbance spectra with different incident angles. It was also shown that the resonant wavelength can be manipulated by modifying the geometry of T-shaped array, broadening the operation range of the structure.
