Abstract

• Analytical model of tube expansion is developed, covering friction, stretching, and bending. • Loading history of tube material shows clear stress reversals during the expansion process. • Cyclic loading tests are carried out to obtain the mechanical properties of tube material. • Combined isotropic and kinematic hardening model is adopted and calibrated based on tests. • Influence of hardening model is analyzed by comparing the simulations of two models.
