Abstract

Discogobio longibarbatus is endemic to Fuxian Lake, Yunnan, China and it has been evaluated as an endangered species in the Red List of China’s Vertebrates. The complete mitochondrial genome of the species is 16,594 bp in length, including 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes and a control region. The gene contents and arrangement of the species is similar to other fishes. The complete mitochondrial genome of D. longibarbatus is helpful in revealing its genetic background for use in planning conservation and resource restoration strategies.
