Abstract

Tectona Grandis wood dust and tamarind fruit fibers belong to natural fibers. This paper discusses strengthening effect of reinforcements Tectona Grandis wood dust and tamarind fruit fiber in a hybrid green composite with epoxy resin-based polymer matrix. Reinforcements are varied for 40%, 50% and 60% with the fibers blended in random orientation. The effects of fibre loading are investigated on mechanical characteristics such as tensile-compression, impact, and hardness. Numerical analysis of the composite is carried out by using Ansys workbench V14.5 and mechanical properties are compared with experimental results. Mechanical properties are found have improved significantly with the percentage of reinforcements.
