Abstract
Physicochemistry Characterization and size- distribution of PM 10 from urban, suburban and background site in spring air of Harbin were studied, by high resolution Environmental Scanning Electronic Microscopy (FESEM) and image analysis technologies (IA).The image analysis revealed that PM 10 in Harbin can be subdivided into four major microscopic types , including mineral particles, soot aggregates ,, fly ash and ultrafine particles; From analysis of size- distribution and elemental composition, the results showed that mineral particles mainly came from soil dust; Soot aggregates and fly ash particles were also two dominant particles which were identified as originating from automobile exhaust and coal combustion.
