Abstract

A novel solar cell based on the structure of Fluorine doped tin oxide / Molebdynum three oxide /4-Tetra-4-Tolylsulfonyl:Zinc Phthalocyanine / Aluminum: (FTO/MoO3/4T4TS:ZnPc/Al) was synthesized, characterized and tested. The synthesis of this solar cell has been considered quite simple and low cost. Physical properties of the different materials composing the solar cell have been investigated by many tools such XRD, Spectrophotometer, XPS and SEM. The Current Density-Voltage characteristics of the solar cell have been measured in dark and under light illumination using the solar simulator AM1.5 with 100 mW/cm2 light intensity. Experimental performances of the solar cell have given the following results: Open circuit voltage Voc = 0.44 V, short circuit current Isc = 20 mA/cm2 and power conversion efficiency equals to 2.5 %.
