Abstract

AbstractA novel method for full characterizing nonlinear distortion of all‐optical sampling is proposed based on polynomial transfer function. The method only requires fitting transfer curve with a polynomial function and enables a uniform expression of nonlinear distortion in terms of polynomial coefficients and input parameters. Simulation and experiment are designed and performed to check the accuracy. The results with our method are in good agreement with the measurement. Our method avoids both Fourier expansion and spectrum measurement, which is suitable for fast evaluating and optimizing distortion of all‐optical sampling. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
