Abstract

MethodsMethods to detect and identify microplastics have been developed in recent decades due to the environmental urgency of plastic pollution. Although marine environments have raised many issues, plastic fragments are present in several other environments. In this study, we proposed applying the X-ray microtomography technique to identify and characterize microplastics in sandy soils. The results showed that the methodology can identify the microparticles and provide valuable information about them in this medium.
