Abstract

The radioimmunoassay method for detection of the major core C-type viral protein p30 is a tool for the characterization and control in inbred strains of mice. 27 mouse strains could be separated into eight groups based on examination of six organs. It is also possible to separate substrains if they are genetically different. Several genes play a role in the expression of p30, but also genotype-environmental interactions seem to affect the p30 expression.
