Abstract
RATIONALE: The sting of Samsum ant (Pachycondyla sennaarensis; SA) causes frequently type I allergic reactions including anaphylaxis in sensitized persons in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We wanted to characterize IgE-binding allergens in SA and examine whether IgE antibodies cross-react with imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta, IFA) venom allergens.
