Abstract
To the Editor: Hypersensitivity to mosquito bites is characterized by severe skin reactions associated with fever and liver damage1 and is often complicated by the presence of other Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)–related disorders2 and natural killer (NK) cell lymphocytosis.3 We report a cytologic profile of EBV-infected NK cells isolated from a 15-year-old Japanese boy with chronic active EBV infection associated with hypersensitivity to mosquito bites of 12 years' duration.
